A six-hour training program is provided to newly appointed UAW EAP Representatives. The purpose of the training is to inform and educate newly appointed UAW EAP Representatives of the responsibilities and duties of their position. An EAP Re ference manual is provided to UAW Represe ntatives, which contains pertinent policies and procedures related to the UAW-Chrysler NTC EAP Program. Training on the operation of the EAP Database is also accomplished.
All newly hired employees are trained on the EAP Program and applicable services available to them during all New Hire Orientation sessions. This training is approximately forty-minutes.
In collaboration with Wayne State University, this certification program supports the training, education and professionalism of the EAP Representatives. This program provides a variety of advanced training courses to assist the EAP Representatives in carrying out their daily responsibilities. Participants develop a deep understanding of EAP services and how to achieve a professional and respected presence in an everyday working environment. Certification requires a total of 192-hours of classroom study.
